FAQS
About Midwest Reproductive Health:
We do not currently accept insurance, but are working to provide this option soon. We do work with various abortion funds. You can find more information on these funds here. We accept payments via cash or credit card.
Abortion:
Abortion is a medical procedure to end a pregnancy by removing tissue from the uterus. It can be performed with an in-clinic procedure or using medication, depending on the gestational age.
Pregnancy:
It is possible to have some light irregular bleeding during pregnancy, but it should not be like a “normal” period. Some people can confuse this for their period because often it can come around the time they were expecting their normal period. The irregular bleeding or spotting that can occur during pregnancy is often a dark brown color or a light pinkish.
Birth Control:
There is no “best” method of birth control. Each method has its pros and cons, and everyone has their own unique preferences for which method they prefer. A great place to start is this quiz.
Teens:
Yes, but requirements vary by state. In Illinois, a teen can get an abortion without needing to obtain permission from a parent or guardian. If a teen prefers to involve a parent or guardian, they are welcome to do so, but it's not a legal requirement in Illinois.
